CHADEUR is the freedom of using any type of art to create emotions on canvas, paper and textile.
CHADEUR was created to bring in front of you all the special moments that you cherish like the wonders of pregnancy, round belly, funny and sad changes of your body and mind, the birth and everyday fun with your precious baby the beauty of your relationship, the small moments of your life that can make you happy and so much more...
The name represents the good energy that is meant to be spread in the world and the warm and soft style of the artist.
The founder of CHADEUR, Corina Burghelea, is an artist who has been in love with colours since childhood. Born in Chisinau, Moldova, a very small country in Europe, she dedicated most of the time possible to discovering the world of painting.
Her approach to art has its roots in the artist's past. Being a curious personality and eager to learn new things, Corina's art was constantly going through transformations from the first quite confident watercolour brushes on wet paper at the nursery, to the amateur art club, to the art school which gave her the fundamental knowledge of art. At this stage Corina developed her skill of creating many different shades with just a basic palette, using all the colours to each painting no matter what, mixing them in such a way, that the result is just breath-taking. By doing so, she is reaching the level where the colour belongs to the material world no longer. Instead, it becomes that vibration that gives off positive energy around you.
Her studies were more technically, graduating and doing her master in Architecture & Urban Planning. These 6 years of continuous concepts, technical drawings, physics studies and no sleep made her learn to think like an architect and engineer, giving a lot of attention to creating concepts, to perspective, shadows, the chance of the creation in the society... All this brought to life a series of abstract paintings, with a more technical and architectural aspect.
However, her adventures do not stop here, conquering the colours and shapes. It follows the texture and emotions – the world of animation. It is like a challenge at that point to start learning and working in the animation field as a texture artist. This specific style and all these settings that she had to understand left a great mark on Corina's style. That is how I believe the "close up" paintings were born.
Eager to learn more about art, the artist landed in the heaven of culture and colours - India. Living there for two years, you could feel the colours through your bones. It inspired her to do something beyond the level of normality... That is how a new series of paintings was born - "Rangoli”, alike the mandala, rangoli is an art form originating in India, which patterns are created on the floor or the ground using coloured rice or sand, quartz powder, flower petals, and coloured rocks.
Corina's version of rangoli is made of intricate floristic elements spread in a circular motion starting right from the middle of the surface to the infinite. These floral elements are repeated in a circular direction forming a symmetry and a magnificent design. The elements are never being sketched or planned in advance. Instead, these are being drawn on the canvas directly from her mind and soul by her hand and represents a real meditation. Paintings of this kind take a long time and an immense amount of patience to complete. The purpose of rangoli is to bring positive emotions and a bright mind. I believe that is when the first ideas of CHADEUR started.
Between her age of 15 and 30, Corina worked in studios of great artists, where she learned new skills like oils in the studio of Viktor Kuzmenko in her home country. She discovered the possibility this type of medium can enhance her distinct approach to the colours. Later in her life, she challenged herself with creating art with the colourful plasticine in the studio of Henry Hudson in London.
Life is an interesting thing, as it opened a different chapter in Corina's life and CHADEUR existence once her daughter Sophie was born. This magnificent moment of motherhood and baby love made our artist fall in love with baby portraits, especially close-ups, where she is choosing to show her audience a more artistic view of what our eyes can see. Her daughter, Sophie, inspired her to do what she thought was not possible until now. "Portrait wasn't my thing until I became a mother", confessed the artist. In the baby's portraits, Corina likes to show how a simple moment from our baby's routine can be so special. You can never stop admiring them and sometimes being lucky enough to witness a special moment, you wish it would last forever. This is the motto of these series of portraits.
The "Motherhood" series was started when she was pregnant, one of her drawings was finished even during her first hours of delivery at the hospital. This series reflects all the aspects of motherhood.
The miracle of giving birth to a child marks a woman in a very deep and special way.
Corina creates each artwork in the name of every mother in this world, going through pain and happiness at the same time, learning to love yourself again after enduring everything for this little bundle of happiness.
These types of paintings are very emotional; therefore, the colour palette is diverse and strong.
Sometime soon, Corina is planning on an exhibition on this topic, and she dreams about writing a book about her journey of becoming a mother.
At the present time Corina is enjoying her lockdown as possible as it can be, together with her husband Harshal and their lovely daughter, Sophie, settled in the United Kingdom.
